Petrified Forest, Arizona

WOW!!

We have see soo much and the day isn't over! Of course it helps when you change time zones twice, so we gained two hours!! We woke up early this morning and got a good start. We determined that Chco Canyon would be too far out of the way and due to bad weather, the 20 mile dirt road into the Canyon would have thrown us way off. We headed to the Petrified Forest, where we had alloted about an hour to drive through the 28 mile park and get back on the road to our other locations. The weather is incredible and was mild and sunny!

Check out the Petroglyphs!!

We even had a small lizard pose for us!

The Infamous Route 66 used to run through the Petrified Forest - we found some remnants!

Here is an example of the Petrified Logs:

We made it to Gallup!!

Gallup New Mexico... just about 50 miles from the Arizona border. Crazy crazy weather as it has rained and lightening and thundered on us on and off all day! We are preping for a huge day tomorrow as we are heading out EARLY...for the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert, we will then make a stop at Happy Jack, AZ to see Meteor Crater!! From there on to the Grand Canyon, south rim and to Vegas!!! Lots to see, but I think it's doable, we'll see ;-)

Unfortunately we are unable to go to Chaco Canyon, a place that I would love to see, but it's 2 hours back and to get there we'd have to drive down a 20 mile dirt road :-( And, with the weather and flash flooding, it just isn't feasable. In case you are interested, Chaco Canyon's past is rich in anthropology as well as history - these were some very intellectual and wise native's to our great land! Here is a great article on
Chaco Canyon.

More to come.....

We made it to New Mexico!!

We made it to Roswell, New Mexico this morning and toured the International UFO Museum. For some of you who don’t know in 1947 allegedly a UFO crashed on a Ranch just outside of Roswell, the government has denied it was an alien craft, however after reading some of the first hand accounts, it makes one wonder?? You have to ask yourself, would the government lie to us?? Lol! Whether or not there is life in outer space, the museum was interesting and we took some pictures of the extra-terrestrials.

Are we there yet? ~ Not quite out of Texas

Stopping in Lubbock on our way to New Mexico we visited friends and had a fabulous time! Stayed up late-late talking and laughing about the "good ole" days!! So late in fact that we got up late and never really got it together, so instead of hitting the road, we chilled out at the pool, caught up, laughed some more and listened to some 80s tunes! ~ GOOD TIMES!!

Thanks Mel and Randy for the incredible hospitality!!

Our first day out...

Fabulous News! The foot is much better!! Thanks to my consultant Cindy and her reflexology talent and a Day at the Ritz Carlton Spa, I am ready for my heels, well almost! I spent the day at the Ritz Carlton Spa, as a gift I earned- on the way out we ran into John Voight, who actually walked over and ask US, who we were!!! Steve located some of the finer Cigar stores and a Harley Davidson show room in the Dallas area. I think he is storing up his testorone getting ready to hang with the girls...he is going to be awesome!!

We had an incredible PJ party to get the consultants "ready" for Seminar!! I can't wait, my first seminar as a Sales Director, it doesn't feel real. Thanks to all my wonderful director friends who are welcoming me with open arms! And a special thanks to Robin for the "autographed" John Maxwell book!! This Seminar Project Super Star is going to ROCK!!

Well, packing went on through midnight or so and in between all the hoopla, I managed to sprain my ankle pretty bad, we thought it might be broken, but it is better after RICE(REST, ICE, Compression and Elavation), just in case you need that info! :-)

So, we are beginning our trip with me having a hobbling foot, however, I am determined to have my slammin leopard high heels on by the beginning of the week!!

The weather is gorgeous and our first stop is Dallas, where I will be whisk away in a Pink Cadillac to the Ritz Carlton Spa - a Spa package that I earned for being a Star Consultant consistently this year - THANKS TO ALL MY FABULOUS CUSTOMERS!

This evening is our PJ Party to get oriented for Seminar and find out what's in store!! More later, please keep us in your prayers as we travel and please keep my right foot in your prayers!
