Ditto RIP July 15, 1998 - March 27, 2009

Today, Ditto, my friend, my companion passed peacefully away. She was in pain and hurting, as the cancer had come back with a vengeance. I am not going to remember her hurting, I am going to remember that she was my companion for 11 years, a 'stray' that I rescued and cared for and loved. She was a great dog and one that was always smiling--not many dogs can smile. Ditto had a happy-go-lucky attitude and rarely complained about anything--even the Vet!

She loved to be outside and play in the pool, chase squirrels and just plain run around the yard. She had a good full life and she fought for four months as hard as she could to beat the cancer, she was even a good patient and took pills graciously.

One of the best dogs, I have ever had -- She will be missed greatly and I look forward to meeting her again, just on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.(see poem below).

I want to thank everyone who has helped me through these past four months, the encouraging emails, the phone calls and visits have really meant a lot.

In loving memory, of Ditto, the Dalmatian with a smile!
RIP DITTO July 15, 1998 - March 28, 2009

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
