Christmas Day

We had a fabulous first Christmas and wanted to share it with you! We spent Christmas Eve with our friends the Glenns - Krissy and I have been friends for years and we have celebrated with them for several years. I have included some pics of the Glenn family!

We had a beautiful Midnight Mass at church with our church family. Christmas Day we opened packages and went to church to celebrate low mass.

Then we came home to get ready for the big day! Steve spent the day in the kitchen cooking a huge meal including standing rib roast, ham, yorkshire pudding and some fabulous fig and plum pudding for desert! YUMMY!!!

We enjoyed our company, including Mark, Krissy, Austin and Morgan, Bishop Murphy and Betty Murphy and Jan. We are blessed to have so many wonderful friends to call family.

We hope everyone enjoyed their holiday!

Love,

Katie and Steve

Merry Christmas from the Prewitts

Merry Christmas

The angel said unto them ...For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11

Where to begin? This year has been filled with many blessings and much excitement! We will begin with the biggest news of all, our engagement and marriage! The year started off slowly and in May I began my Yoga certification class. In the midst of this, Steve took me on a picnic and proposed. It was very romantic! We already planned our yearly quest to the Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas , so we decided to combine the wedding, our love of Trek and theconvention. We were married on August 6, 2008 on the bridge of the Enterprise, located at Star Trek The Experience. It was fabulous . Not only was it an incredible locale, but we also were in screen-used costumes, as were more than 30 guests. It was a very unique unforgettable experience.

We returned to Houston and had a small blessing ceremony at our church, St. Peter’s Anglican, and Bishop Patrick Murphy did the honors. We had a working honeymoon in Vancouver and spent a week cataloging and archiving costumes for the science fiction television show, Battlestar Galactica. It was an incredible experience and we were able to see some beautiful sights between Seattle and Canada. We got home just in time for hurricane Ike. Thank God we survived with little damage. We did endure two weeks without water; good character building for the newlyweds!

Meanwhile, we were in the process of having our bathroom remodeled, a bird room added on and moving me into Steve’s house. We are happy to report the remodeling is finally complete, though we were wondering if it would be finished by Christmas.

Most recently our Dalmatian Ditto was diagnosed with cancer and had a tumor removed the day before Thanksgiving. She has sarcoma, an aggressive type of cancer, and will have to have chemotherapy – we are thankful for the time we have left with her. Steve and I are both teaching at Lone Star College and Houston Community College, respectively, and enjoying our careers as historians. As we close this letter, it is actually snowing here. Wow!

We are wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a fabulous New Year!
